Buyers of design data
Selling textile designs to AI: who pays, and how
Designers already sell prints through marketplaces one at a time. A smaller group of organisations pays for design and image libraries in bulk for AI, and they say so on their own pages.
Ask about my design archive 5 of the 10 textile and fashion platforms we read leave the designs with the customer. Tell us where your archive lives and we will write back about it.
Libraries that share AI money with contributors
Shutterstock says contributors receive a share of the entire contract value when customers license datasets, and Adobe says Stock contributors whose content was considered for training Firefly receive a bonus payment, the latest on 17 September 2026.

Marketplaces and data venues
Spoonflower lets designers offer their own designs for sale as textiles and wallpaper, under a non-exclusive licence to copy and sell the content so long as that is an essential step of the site. Datarade, Defined.ai, Opendatabay and AWS Data Exchange are venues where a holder lists a whole dataset.
